Fair Fun: Preview Night

We were lucky enough to be able to attend the fair preview night on Tuesday, August 5th.  The kids enjoyed riding all the rides with NO lines!

Emily McCormack, Tyler and Kellen McCormack enjoyed the Scrambler.  I am pretty sure it had a different name but we called it the Scrambler when I was younger.  ;)

Nathan had to watch from atop Jeff's shoulders.  He was too short to ride that one.

The hot air balloon ride was next and Nathan wanted to ride by himself.  He must have seen the older kids get smashed on the first ride.

Nathan LOVES motorcycles.  He usually calls them bicycles but he points out every. single. one. we see.
Needless to say he was excited for this ride.

I try to point out that people that ride motorcycles are crazy.  I hope Nathan's love for motorcycles is a phase that ends long before he turns 16.

Love this pic!

Fun slide!

It was really fast and Nathan was all over the place.
Tyler loved it and wanted to go again.

Hi Dad!
Tyler was so excited to ride in the front of the dragon.
This was his favorite ride last year too.

Choo-choo train ride.  Nathan in the adult hat cracks me up.  It really isn't that big.

This was the Monkey Maze, a fun house of sorts.
Tyler got confused by the mirrors and ran smack into a glass partition.  Jeff could hear him do it from the outside.  He was fine which allow me to laugh so. hard.

Swings!  I was nervous with my little two year old flying around in these.  I was relieved when this ride ended.

Dragon ride one more time before we went home.

We stopped to tell Paul Brune thank you for the awesome evening before we left.  That is when the tears started for an unnamed two year old.

Tyler's T-ball season

Tyler participated in his first year of t-ball through the YMCA that started in June.

All decked out in his t-ball gear.  Looking good, buddy.

Nathan was sporting some shades for the first t-ball game of the season.

Ready to play!

Nice rip!

Nathan was trying to sneak a drink from the dugout (even though I brought him his own) so all the kids were holding their water bottles up high.  #brotherlylove

Our first t-ball game of the season was a bit chilly so Grant cuddled up and took a snooze.

Lining up to give high fives and say "good game."

These next few pictures were from picture day inside the Y since it was raining.

On a team of 4 and 5 year olds, 4 year old Tyler is the tallest!

Tyler and his buddy, Nate Paul, from school.

My own version of the team photo.  We purchased one of the packages too.  Those pics are coming soon.

Waiting in the dugout.

T-ball is hard work!

This video is from Tyler's first game.  He would run from whatever position he was playing to the ball.  Third to first... Shortstop to home.  While we appreciate the hustle we had to talk about playing in his area and letting his teammates get the ball if it was hit to them.  Tyler did get better about this aspect of the game throughout the season.  We did have tears from Tyler one game because the ball got hit to the pitcher position five times in a row.  Tyler was not playing the pitching position.

All in all, the season was a great lesson on teamwork and he got the basics of baseball.   Tyler says he wants to play again next season so it is a win in our book! :)

Fair Parade

We enjoyed the annual fair parade on Sunday, August 3rd.
The family was in full force to celebrate the event.

It was Grant's first fair parade

Tyler; however, is an old pro!

Tyler was in charge of looking cute and getting popcicles for everyone! :)

Grandma looking good wearing Hadley's hat.

My dad was either crazy to put a two year old with a popsicle on his head or he flat out just didn't care. :)

Grandma helped Hadley with her popcicle.

Grant got to share one with Daddy.

Dad looks a little concerned about the drip potential in this photo.

Yes, that is an ice cream now in Tyler's hand.  After a popcicle he was handed an ice cream.  #sugaroverload

Patty, Grant and Mike!

Tyler waived at everyone.  He quickly learned that the friendlier he was the more candy he was handed.  :)

Sandy took this video of Tyler dancing to the band during the parade.  He was in his element! ;)

Our crew was looking good! :)

I don't know if this was ANOTHER ice cream or the same one.  Looking back at the photos...I cannot tell.  #momoftheyear

I am pretty sure Nathan was eyeing that ice cream cone!

After the parade we congregated at the Harms' household for the annual pizza party.
