I think I may have been putting off this post as it is hard to believe that my baby is already ONE! How in the world do they grow up so quickly? We enjoyed the birthday celebrations and those post(s) will be coming soon.
Such a handsome, big (yet, still so little) boy.
This smile has to make you smile too!
Cheese!
I am so excited that I am 1!
Nathan development has taken off recently.
- He is running now! Yikes! While most one year old babies/toddlers are just learning to walk, Nathan is running. Partly for survival at times to run from his brother and other times they are chasing each other through the house screeching and laughing. Nathan has had a bloody lip or two as a result of getting those little legs going too fast and crashing into something (often the floor).
- His bottom two molars have been coming in for some time now...ugh! Get here already!
- Nathan is wearing mostly 18 month tops; 12-18 month bottoms.
- Size 3 diapers during the day and size 4 at night
- Eating: EVERYTHING! It is nice to be able to fix 1.5-2 different meals at night instead of 3 different meals. He really eats whatever Tyler does and sometimes Tyler's leftovers...just in smaller bites (at least we try to keep them smaller).
- Sleeping: 7:30-8 is bedtime and he sleeps until just before 7am. Napping - most days still two naps but I think he is working on the transition to one big nap. I thought I would be more sad about him going to one nap but I am really okay with it. I could potentially have 2.5-3 hours to get things done in the afternoon with both boys sleeping at the same time! Wow!
- Nathan is talking up a storm! I feel like he is getting new words daily. He says mama, dada, Ty, ball, catch (now for the correct things), duck, quack, hi, bye bye, drink, thank (still working on the you), nigh nigh (night night) and a few more I am sure I am forgetting. We are still working on more and please...right now those are just grunts (usually for more food).
- He L.O.V.E.S. stuffed animals. He will give a bear a hug and say "awwww." He usually sleeps with either a stuffed bear or a stuffed puppy dog. While I don't want him to get too attached (something I have to bring with us everywhere...no thank you, I can barely remember everything we need when we walk out of the house as is), it is VERY cute!
- Still climbing on everything and continuing his dare devil ways.
- Nathan loves to dance when the music is turned on and will sing occasionally too. E-I-E-I-O is his speciality.
- Nathan is very much a mama's boy. He is fine when we leave him in the nursery at church after 30 seconds and he is great at the sitters and now even waves bye bye to me when I leave, but when he is sad or hurt he always goes to his mommy. I will relish it a bit longer while he still needs me. ;)
All in all, Nathan brings so much joy, laughter and awe to our household. Nathan Robert, we love you oh so very much!
He's so cute!! And I can't believe he is running at 12 months!!!!
