Grant: 4 Months

My goal is to post Grant's monthly photos in the actual month that he turns that age...even if it is 15 days late. :)

I managed to snag these photos right before bed so I didn't get my usual smiles but Grant is still cute as can be.

I love how he is holding the sign in this one.

I love those leg rolls that are really starting to form.

He still loves his fists.  He tries to cram whatever he can into his mouth and has started drooling.  I don't feel anything but his gums do seem a bit harder.  Teeth coming soon? Nathan got his first tooth on his 5th month birthday and Tyler's came on his 6th month birthday.

Mom, I am really getting sleepy.

In other news:
Grant rolled over for the first time during his third month of life.  It is much more common for him to roll from his front to his back but I have seen him roll from his back to his front once.
This new trick has allowed me to feel comfortable allowing Grant to sleep on his tummy which he enjoys MUCH more than sleeping on his back (as did ALL of our boys).
Grant had a bit of a cold earlier this month along with his brothers but all is well now.  The cold really slowed down his feedings and I got a bit of a stockpile of milk going during that time and a good thing too because lately he has really been attempting to catch up.  He is still nursing/having breast milk full time.  Next month we may have to start some cereal because he loves to sit on my lap during meals and watch everyone eat.  His eyes follow his brothers spoons and forks into their mouths.
Speaking of siblings, Tyler and Nathan are wonderful with Grant.  Very sweet to him getting him a "binky" when he is fussy and talking and smiling at him when he gives the "I'm bored" whine.  Tyler loves to say "It's okay, Baby Grant.....Moooommmm, Grant needs you."
I will post his stats from his 4 month check up soon!  It was a combined doctors appointment with Nathan's 2 year check up.  Fun! Fun!

Grant's photo was in the Parade of Babies section of the Missourian a few weeks ago too.  :)

Wood Family Farm Weekend

March 8-9 was the Wood Family Weekend at Otter Creek Farm.  We attended Family Reading Night the Friday beforehand (one of Tyler's favorite events) so we headed up on Saturday morning.

While I stacking up more gear to pile into the Suburban to head to the farm (you would have thought we were staying for a week with the amount of stuff we packed for a 24 hour trip), I told Nathan to go into his room as we were going to get ready. He came out of his room with a diaper and his frog boots and said "Ready for farm!"  He constantly cracks us up!

There were and are a whole lot of photos.

Grant was sporting his first of two camo outfits for the weekend.

Tyler and Nathan played a little basketball game that Zach brought for them.

Hadley tried on some of Nathan's shoes.  A girl after my own heart that loves shoes...even if they are green frog boots. ;)

Nathan was ready to go outside, coveralls and all.  Yes, all 2 year olds need coveralls, right?

Nathan cuddled up with GG for the hayride around the farm.

These three were a bit upset they didn't grab a beer before the hayride took off.

Dad was so excited to have everyone up to visit one of his favorite places on earth.

This is what is left of the trailer that dad and his dogs spent many weekends in.  Trust me...it was bad.  I am not sad to see it go.

Tyler was pretty funny checking out the farm with the binoculars.

Nathan got to ride on the tractor with PoPo.

Uncle Kyle spraying the fields.

A cute picture even if PoPo's eyes are closed.

Next it was Tyler's turn to drive with Uncle Kyle.

Daddy and Nathan.  Two peas in a pod.

Toward the end of the ride, Nathan fell asleep on Wesselschmidt's lap sitting straight up.

After the hayride, Tyler took a nap like he was supposed to while Nathan fought it and so we got out the Play-Doh.  It was Hadley's first Play-Doh experience so we had all kinds of fun!

While we played Mom worked on dinner which was amazing!

Nathan and Zach (mostly Nathan) had cars ALL over the lodge in the 24 hours we were there.

Finally, Nathan crashed on Aunt Sandy's lap.  This kid loves his Thomas hand me down slippers.

Anna got Grant to sleep too. Their family just has the touch!

We had to have a bonfire before our day at the farm was complete.  Grant was able to sport his snowsuit one last time (hopefully at least) before he outgrows it and Spring arrives!

Mary aka Maggie, Tyler, Jeff, Nathan and Kasey enjoying the bonfire.

We roasted marshmallows for smores and Tyler told us some ghost stories that involved ghosts falling out a window of a castle, jumping in the grass and ended with they lived happily ever after.  I am not sure he quite has the concept of ghost stories down yet.

Tyler having smores fed to him because they are "too messy."

Uncle Doug's elk that hangs above the fireplace looks amazing in the new lodge.

The view from walking in the back door.

Tyler played a strategy game with his great-great Aunt Nancy.

Morning cuddles with dad.

Grant in camo outfit #2.

Watching the sunrise.
Nathan looked out the window and said "Tractor...where are you?"  He loves his tractors!

We had a farm first - The Hot Dog Song played on the speakers courtesy of Aunt Maggie with everyone dancing.  I am pretty sure the adults were having more fun than the kids.

Zach just wanted to eat his breakfast.

Nathan was ready for someone to play basketball with him.

Can you tell we had a fun time?

Thanks, Mom and Dad for a great weekend at the farm.  Our boys loved it and were pretty exhausted after the weekend.  It was a quiet car ride home with all three boys sleeping!
